ISCNE is active in the Irish Setter Club of America rescue program. As members we are always looking out for our breed, protecting and taking care of Irish Setters in need and assisting owners in need of help.
ISCNE rescue is an important mission for our club.
When a dog comes into rescue, they are evaluated for health and temperament, which is crucial to placing them in their forever home. Before placing, the dogs are neutered/spayed and brought up to date with a health record. Rescue placements are done without AKC registration papers being available to the new owners. Our efforts make a huge difference to every single dog we rescue.

Mandy, the oldest of the 19 Irish Setters rescued from a home in New Hampshire, was in extremely bad condition. She was nursed back to health and spent her final days in the loving home of Carol and Steve Levesque.
Lois Goepfert sent pictures of Buddy another dog rescued from NH. Buddy was an elder statesman, retired from his ‘show career’ but still able to strut his stuff.
Claire Marx’s photo is of Tara, who she was fostering before placement in her forever home. “I was taking my Christmas card photos of two of my own dogs and she barked until I put the wreath around her neck... what a ham!”
